Your cakes are terrific. That little truck is so cute. I need to learn how to work with fondant. If I keep seeing work like this, it won't be long. Wow! Your cakes are terrific. I think it's this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Confetti-Cakes-Cookbook-Cookies-Cupcakes/dp/0316113077/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212001891&sr=8-1 and the cakes in it are amazing. I tend to just go and leaf through a load of books sitting on the floor of a book shop rather than have to buy loads of different ones. Good luck! Thanks everyone for your comments

I love all the details! You make me want to run home and start playing with fondant right now. Actually I'm about to create my first fondant covered cake. I am going to make a wine bottle in a wooden crate for a friend of mine's house warming party. I'm so excited and nervous to make it! Keep posting more cakes! You're an inspiration! Amy, I made an eight inch square madeira cake and then cut it in half. I cut one of the halves in half again lengthways and sandwiched it to the top of the other half to make a the trailer taller. I rolled out some sugar paste I coloured grey and covered the trailer all over having already iced the end pieces first. I then cut the remaining half of the cake across ways and sandwiched them together on top of one another with buttercream to make the cab at the front. I then froze the cab so I could carve it more easily into a more rounded shape and then iced it with green icing. My icing skills are not exactly brilliant but it is the detail which really makes it, so don't worry too much if it doesn't come out as smooth as you would like. Also I always end up getting my sugar paste stuck to the work surface when rolling it out so use plenty of corn flour. I hope that all makes sense but if you are really interested you might want to get a good cake decorating book to guide you through it better than I can ;-) Thanks guys!
